In a city as vibrant and diverse as Chicago, there’s no shortage of events and activities to commemorate Pride Month. From colorful parades to family-friendly events, here’s a guide to some of the best ways to celebrate Pride in the Windy City.


Andersonville Midsommarfest

This diverse neighborhood hosts one of Chicago’s most beloved street festivals each June. Midsommarfest celebrates the area’s Swedish roots and LGBTQ+ community with food, entertainment, artisan vendors, and more.

Chicago Pride Fest

In the historic Northalsted neighborhood, Chicago’s Pride Fest is a massive two-day celebration with multiple music stages, drag shows, DJs, dancing, and more.

Chicago Pride Parade

Undoubtedly the highlight of Pride Month, the annual Pride Parade is a dazzling spectacle of solidarity and celebration. With its vibrant floats, energetic performances, and exuberant crowds, the parade spreads joy and visibility for the LGBTQ+ community.

Pride in the Park

Pride in the Park is a new two-day music festival held in downtown Grant Park.  A portion of ticket sales is donated to Center on Halsted, a well-known LGBTQ community center.

Navy Pier Pride

This event consists of a full day of family-friendly festivities in honor of the LGBTQ+ community. Enjoy Storytime with Drag Queens, live performances, special film presentations, and more.

CTA Pride Train

The CTA recently announced the return of the Pride Train, an eight-car train wrapped in the colors of a rainbow. Take a ride on the red line to see this train in action.
