Our gourmet kitchen has become a local hot spot for hosting events.  It’s the perfect venue for baby showers, bridal showers, cooking classes, dinner parties, networking events, and corporate retreats.  And with every event that we host, we learn a little more about how to make events run smoothly. For the perfect event, take our tips and book our place –  you will look like a pro too 🙂

Start Planning Early

Hosting an event involves managing many moving parts.  Events that go off without a hitch are carefully planned out well in advance. If you’re not sure where to start, we suggest getting your venue and guest list nailed down first!  Then you can set a timeline for yourself until Event Day! Think big picture and make a list of the items that need to be tackled, add these to your calendar, and start crossing things off your list!

Stay Organized

When you’re trying to coordinate a million different things, it’s important that you have the right tools to get the job done. Especially with all the different aspects that go into planning an event.  Having something like an event management tool to track invites, RSVPs, and provide guests with event-specific information, can be incredibly useful! It’s also smart to keep all your vendors, expenses, and responsibilities in a single spreadsheet to make sure you have all your information at your fingertips. You can reference this at a moment’s notice and keep your event on the right track!

Party Supplies

No party is complete without the proper party supplies! Depending on what kind of party you’re throwing, you’ll need the appropriate decorations. You’ll want some baby blue and pink decor if it’s a baby shower, or maybe some superhero-themed balloons and party hats for a 5-year-old boy’s birthday party.

Food

More than just the decor, is all the food, drink, and anything else you want to have for your event! If you can, try to consolidate the number of vendors you have to use to keep things simple. For example, try getting your food and drink accommodations from a single vendor to avoid having to keep track of more than you need to. And it’s always good to have a backup just in case your caterer falls through.  It’s happened, trust me 😉

Entertainment

Whether you just have some music playing in the background or you want a full-blown live music production, you should always consider entertainment for your event. You could hire a magician, have an expert speaker, or even a local musician.  Don’t be afraid to get creative! Even if you don’t want to go crazy with the entertainment, we suggest having some music. We highly recommend using streaming services like Spotify.  They are easy to use and let you create your own playlist!  Whatever you decide for entertainment, remember to coordinate with your venue.  They may have rules on appropriate music volume and live entertainment.  Always work out the details ahead of time.

There’s certainly a lot that goes into planning an event. However, with the right tools, a positive mindset, and maybe a little help from your friends, you can plan an event that you’ll remember for years to come!
