Women’s History Month

March 30, 2024 | women

It’s hard to believe that I am celebrating 20 years in business!  I started the Wicker Park Inn in 2004 while also owning the Alliance Bakery. I had three guest rooms and a comfortable common area for breakfast. There were no hotels or AirBnBs in Wicker Park at the time.

Over the years, I added more accommodations, then expanded to include the adjacent building. The Wicker Park Inn today has nine beautifully decorated guest rooms, each with private, ensuite bathrooms, individual heating and cooling, VPN hotspots and unique touches to ensure a memorable stay.

Throughout the years, I’ve made sure to honor Wicker Park, even naming rooms after favorite streets in the neighborhood – Wabansia, Hoyne, Damen, Wolcott, Pierce, Paulina, etc. I recommend local hot spots and hidden gems. I am a strong believer in supporting local, small businesses. Wicker Park is such a vibrant community full of great bars and restaurants, unique shops, cool cafes, and historic buildings. Guests are amazed with all the events and activities happening right here, and often come back to explore and experience more.

And as a woman-owned, Latina-owned, and mom-owned business, I am extremely proud of the impact the Wicker Park Inn has had on our community.  I enjoy hosting women’s networking events, retreats and workshops.  I celebrate and support other female entrepreneurs. I feel a tremendous source of pride when I see other women doing well and truly believe in women supporting women.

As we close out Women’s History month, remember to shop local and support women-owned businesses in your neighborhood.
